Automotive/Diesel Roadside Service Mechanic
As an Automotive/Diesel Roadside Service Mechanic with Marsh Basin Mobile Repair LLC., you’re more than a technician — you’re the lifeline for drivers stranded on the side of the road. This role combines technical expertise, fast problem‑solving, and customer care to keep the Magic Valley moving.
Key Responsibilities
Emergency Roadside Assistance:
Responding to calls for help with flat tires, dead batteries, lock-outs, and fuel delivery for vehicles ranging from passenger cars to heavy‑duty trucks.
On-Site Repairs:
Diagnosing and perform minor mechanical, electrical, or engine repairs directly at the breakdown location to get drivers moving again.
Towing Services:
Determine when towing is necessary and safely transport vehicles to the nearest repair facility or the customer’s preferred destination.
Preventive Maintenance:
Performing quick checks such as oil levels, fluid top‑offs, and belt inspections to prevent future breakdowns.
Technical Diagnostics:
Use advanced diagnostic tools to read fault codes, assess issues, and provide immediate solutions when possible.
Customer Interaction:
Communicate clearly with customers about issues, repair options, and costs while providing reassurance during stressful situations.
Qualifications
Certification: ASE Master Certification is highly preferred, especially in Electrical Systems, Engine Repair, and Diesel Engines.
Experience: Hands‑on experience with automotive and diesel repairs, ideally in a mobile or roadside environment.
Vehicle Knowledge: Familiarity with gas, diesel, and propane systems, including modern electronic controls.
Tools: Ability to maintain and operate a personal set of tools suitable for roadside diagnostics and repairs.
Licensing: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driver's license CDL may be required for towing heavy vehicles.
Safety Training: Knowledge of roadside safety procedures and high‑voltage systems in hybrid/electric vehicles.
